Did you ever had an idea how much does a company/organization spend in terms of recruitment, forget about the training part? Can the amount be as big as Rs. 2-3 crore in a single state like Gujrat, which the IYC (Indian Youth Congress) team spent for the just concluded youth congress election? If it can be, just think about India as a large!
Gone is the conventional grassroots panchayat assembly ticket itinerary to become state level office bearers. We think the days are not far when we would see Congress Inc. or BJP Inc. or be it any political part name with Inc. as a suffix.
Rahul Gandhi the master mind behind revamping the image of IYC is on a hiring spree pan India. And what would the employees in the organization/team be called as? “Aam Aadmi ke Sipahi” or “freedom fighter” or would they bear different managerial post as CEO, CFO, Business Development Executive, Analyst, consultants and other posts in an organization one can think of.
We all understand the fact that youth is considered as the backbone of an economy and don’t forget that youth are the target segment for IYC. So do you think it could be a next viable employement opportunity for you? Or do you think a new industry is opening up for the mass at large?
Candidates are grilled by a panel on their vision for the future of the youth wing, so how about the idea of schools/colleges opening up where people would be imparted training, how to get into these upcoming organization?
Do you think his concept of “ONE MAN ONE POST” as also suggested by Antony Committee is set to revolutionize the functional structure in the organization?
To what extent do you think that the policy of corporate culture adopted by IYC to identify and prepare a new generation of leaders is feasible?
Share your ideas!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI believe this is the start of yet another political revolution. Congress has very well realized that the youth of India needs youth to lead it forward. It is also noteworthy the success people with the likes of Sachin Pilot & Jyotiraditya Schndia have achieved.
If we try and achieve a symmetry between the political culture and the PSU we realise that they have same background of laidbackness and non performance. But off late with the rise of globalisation they have also realised that to be profitablity they need to change to the need of the hour. Now, comparing this with the political culture, when getting majority at the parliament is a thing of the past a political party has to be more publicly responsible and more valued by the. And its only the youth which can change the system and the values imbibed in it.
I believe at this stage we should be questioning whether such a huge expenditure is in the correct lines as Rahul Gandhi promised...I agree he is on a hiring spree but more importantly this hiring should help the ultimate goal of IYC revamping...the political scenario is not unknown to any of us...
ReplyDeleteWe all vouched for the Youth India to take care of our problems and identify themselves with the same problems we discuss daily...
I think we should give him some time to see the effects and how they work for our country...
Hope the Youth will take the country to a right direction
But my dear friends I still have a question that to what extent people would be motivated to join it, as the traditional notion needs to be changed that apart from money minting job..now its time to think beyond....!!
ReplyDeleteToday's youth is as much motivated towards money as it was earlier..but the difference today is the perception and the time which has taken a complete overhaul..today there is more awareness towards cleaning our own backyard before setting on a cleaning spree in the neighbourhood..
ReplyDeleteIndia has around sixty percent of the population classified in the category of youth and they are much more demanding of their rights than their fathers and forefathers..youth today want to get into politics but they are often confused on the agendas put forth by different parties..its time that some of the young leaders such as rahul gandhi, sachin pilot and others take efforts to channelise the young energy towards cleaning up the system so that India indeed becomes a superpower with all the fields prospering evenly..
There is no denying the fact that people like Rahul Gandhi deserves a word of praise from all those who truly believe that its time that the youth who focus more on economical benefit rather than monetary benefit come to the fore front...
ReplyDeleteBut again a second thought shivers me..how many of us who pass out from B-schools, really from their heart think politics as a career..as a true public servant?
If anyone could address this issue convincingly???
yes it is true no b-school passout think much about politics career... this is not because youth are more prone to monetary benefits or they dont wanted to clean up the political system ... but this is because the structure is not wel defined.. most of the political party follow the dynasty rule.. rahul, sachin, and others r product of the same... and the party who doesn't have dynasty rule suffered a lot as we see problem faced by the BJP in recent time... political recruitment is not making any sense until it follow the internal democracy ie democracy within the party.. where a young charismatic leader apart from any dynasty can reach the top post....
ReplyDeleteBut giving this discussion to a new dimension..can we rope in some bollywood stars or some eminent names in knowledge industry to come to the picture along with those at least who stand for college election post, as it has been observed that at least few college electorates work for the welfare of their college friends.
ReplyDeleteSo if they come into lime light and form some association/committee, they can have a strong say in the political world and one can never know that we could have majority of MPs and MLAs between the age of 25-35? They could also rope in some IAS officers who have been into this system but paralyzed by the functioning of the system to work for the welfare of the country..
